In this historical drama, Jeanne, a young working-class woman hungry for culture and pleasure, uses her intelligence and charms to rise step by step to the highest levels of society. She becomes the favorite of King Louis XV. They fall madly in love, and against all proper etiquette, Jeanne moves to Versailles, where her relationship with the king scandalizes the court.
It opened the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.
